Lots of great ideas were presented for outings for the 1999/00 year. They were presented to the Troop Committee by Ian. The T.C. made up a schedule which will be presented to the troop in September for final approval.
Who would have thought that a June barbecue would be so cold that no one was adventurous enough to swim. Oh well, at least the coals were good and hot and dinners sizzled away before a wonderful program of skits and recognition.
It was wet, fast, fun, and too short. The American River rafting trip was a blast. The consensus was to do it again and do the full day.
Summer camp was stupendous. Five troops were there, six Scouts earned rank advancement (Matt P., Life; Dylan D.-R., Star; Kyle N. and Matt R.; First Class; Andrew K., Second Class; Robbie E., Tenderfoot), ## merit badges earned, 4 "Troop of the Day" feathers, 4 conservation projects, 2 extra miles on the way to the bivouac, 1 "Scout Master of the Week", 5 Thunder hikers, 0 injuries, 567 brown socks (previously white), 3 foreign languages used for assembly greeting and 23 cheeseburgers wolfed down at Sam's on the way home. Additional recognition to Dylan (archery), Robert G. (shot put), and Alden (rifle), winners in the Kit Carson Capers.
